From Heathrow airport: BY TAXI: On arrival at Heathrow, please call our local inexpensive Taxi company - LHR CARS of West Drayton. Arrange precisely where they will pick you up and also give them your mobile phone number, if applicable; or tell them what you are wearing! LHR CARS will collect you and drop you off here for approximately GBP 8.00 (slightly more if you fly into Terminal 4). If you jump into any (black) Taxi at Heathrow, please realise that the cab driver may not know this area, and you therefore risk paying twice as much - be firm about agreeing a reasonable fare before leaving the airport [GBP 10.00 - 12.00]! BY CAR: From the M4: Take J4 (Uxbridge A408/Heathrow) from the M4. Keep left & concentrate HARD at the not very user-friendly traffic light roundabout! Take 2nd filter on left into Cherry Lane, with arrowhead pointing left - towards West Drayton (the Crowne Plaza is ahead of you, & the Novotel to your left). Drive straight down Cherry Lane, which then becomes Sipson Road, then straight through 2 small traffic lights after the 'Costcutter' parade of shops on the left, into Station Road. Pass the 'Fox & Pheasant' pub on your right; Station Road bends to the right & past the 'King's Paget' - followed by St. Martin's Vets Surgery on left and a Texaco Garage on the right, Oakwood Guest House is on the right, just beyond the 'Six Bells' Pub. BY LOCAL U3 BUS: Take the U3 from Stand 18 at Heathrow Bus Station - 5 buses run to West Drayton per hour [i.e. every 12 minutes]. Pay the bus driver 1.50 GBP, or show him your Oyster Card (unfortunately not all Bus drivers speak fluent English!), and get off near the end of Swan Road, West Drayton [journey time aprox 12 minutes]. Walk down Swan Road to the T junction - with a Spar Supermarket to your left; cross over Station Road and turn right - towards Harmondsworth and Sipson. Walk past S. H. Harrold - Opticians, and then past 2 small Indian restaurants. Cross straight over Brandville Road and we are on your left - beyond the silver-grey shutters, just before the 'Six Bells' pub. Alternatively, you can get off at the next U3 Bus Stop, by Burger King in West Drayton, cross over Station Road and turn right. Walk past the Spar Supermarket on corner and then past 2 small Indian restaurants; cross over Brandville Road & Oakwood Guest House is on the left, before the 'Six Bells'. IF FLYING INTO T4 (BA), HEATHROW: please take the free Heathrow Shuttle Bus from Terminal 4 to Heathrow Central Bus BUS STATION; take the U3 Bus to West Drayton from there, and then follow the above Instructions. FROM UXBRIDGE: From the M40, exit at Junction 1 at the hectic Denham roundabout & then take the A4020 towards Uxbridge. At 2nd roundabout/Traffic Light complex in Uxbridge (at Capital Court/MANPOWER), take the A408 (to the right) towards Cowley & Yiewsley. Drive through Cowley & continue along the A408 suburban road for a few miles. Pass the Esso/Tesco Express Garage on your left and then various warehouses on right, until you reach the big traffic lights in Yiewsley (with Iceland & Aldi on your right). Continue through Yiewsley, passing Woolworths & HSBC on your left. Drive over Canal Bridge & past West Drayton Station on your left, then past a Spar supermarket on the left-hand corner. Shortly after a grey Lance Owen Vauxhall garage on your right and just past Brandville Road on the left, you will see Oakwood Guest House on the left, beyond the silver-grey shutters and located just before the 'Six Bells' pub. PARKING: We have 3 compact parking spaces available on Station Road on either side of our front door. Secure, longer-term parking is available behind the guest house. Turn right just before Chas Cameron Lettings into Brandville Road, then turn right immediately afterwards into Bellclose Road. Turn immediately right again into the mesh-gated car park (with green garage doors ahead of you). FROM PADDINGTON BY TRAIN: [West Drayton station is 5 miutes from the Guest House on foot.] Take a Thames train towards Reading, Oxford and Slough, (normally leaving from Platform 13 or 14 to the right-hand side of Paddington station). There are 4 trains per hour mid-week, with a journey time of approx. 25 mins. NB: Check Platform screens carefully - before getting onto a train at Paddington! We are 5 minutes from West Drayton station. Turn left and left again under the railway bridge, then walk a few hundred yards past the fruit and veg shops, a Spar supermarket on the corner, then 2 small Indian restaurants on your left. The grey Lance Owen Vauxhall garage will be on your right. Cross straight over Brandville Road and the Guest House is on your left, next to the silvery-grey shutters, and just before the 'Six Bells' pub. If you leave the station via the Back exit, walk straight ahead into Warwick Road for a short way and then bear right toward the Gentlemens Barber shop. Turn left at the corner into Station Road by 'Flowers by Ellisa' and opposite the red Threshers wine shop. You will then arrive at the Spar Supermarket. From here follow the above directions. FROM LONDON BY PICCADILLY UNDERGROUND LINE: Alternatively, if you travel into London Kings Cross or Euston stations, take the comfortable, blue Piccadilly Line all the way to the Heathrow Terminals 1, 2 & 3 stop - without changing. From Heathrow Underground station you can either call LHR Cars of West Drayton, from the train to pick you up by the station, or cross over to Heathrow Bus Station [beside the Underground station] and hop on to a U3 Bus at Stand 18, to get to West Drayton - fare GBP 1.50p/ or show the driver an Oyster Card.
